Rural Payments: update on service availability

Posted by: , Posted on: - Categories: CAP Reform

This post is now out of date.  Please check the latest status updates on the Rural Payments service.

We are releasing new features onto the service this week - thanks for bearing with us if the service is slower than usual while we make these important updates. You will still be able to register, however please note some of the details of your land might not be visible to you - certainly for the first part of this week while we make these updates.

We understand that some customers are having problems with giving permissions to Agents. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. This particular issue has emerged today (3 February); we're looking into it as a matter of urgency and will let you know here when it's fixed.

The best places for updates are https://ruralpayments.blog.gov.uk/ and via @ruralpay

As we add new features and make improvements to the new Rural Payments service, from time to time it might not be available but we will always try to give you as much notice as possible and will keep you updated as we go.

    Having not been able to be verified by Experian & Digidentity (not in debt, for credit rating) - can someone let me know what information I need when I phone the RPA phone line, to register? As I don't want to waste anymore time.

      Hello. You will need an email address, your SBI number, bank account details, SPS payment details and land and entitlement details to hand.

      You need to have to hand:
      * Date of Birth
      * The answers to your security questions if set (memorable date, event and location).
      * Personal Identifier (P.I.)
      * Sort code and last four digits of the account used for payments
      * Trader/Vendor number
      * Number of entitlements held
      * Value of any SPS payments
      * The last four digits of your SPS Online PIN (if you have one)
      * CPH number
      * Your current SPS application
      * Recent activity with the RPA
      Arm yourself with that info and it should be quick, easy and painless!

    I too was unable to be verified owing to the fact that I couldn't remember which store card I had applied for in 2006!! I had already been verified by passport, driving licence and bank account. This system is crazy. I already have Government Gateway ID, SPS customer number, HLS agreement number, etc etc. Is this just a way to make us give up making a claim?? And do 'they' think we have nothing better to do?

      Sorry to hear you’ve been having problems. We recognise that not everyone will be able to use GOV.UK to register for Rural Payments, so you can also call the Rural Payments Agency to register over the phone, on 03000 200 301.

    Also unable to remember security questions so couldn't get registered. How can this be when already have government gateway link etc . It's ridiculous, couldn't even find an address or person to complain to! Have sent them email but no reply yet!

    If you live in an area where there's no mobile phone signal and you don't have a mobile 'phone - forget it. A mobile 'phone number's an absolute must to be able to fill in the details required for this system.

      It sounds like you are using GOV.UK Verify to register for Rural Payments. If this is the case and mobile coverage is a long term issue where you access the service then you may want to try contacting the RPA to register; please call 03000 200 301.
